Permit fees and worked estimates

The official DSD FAQ supplies renewal percentages, not a complete new-construction fee calculation. The FAQ does not state a standalone effective date for this rule; confirm eligibility and current assessment.

Assume DSD approves a renewal before expiration for a permit whose original fee was $400: 50% × $400 = $200 renewal component. After-expiry percentage would be $400. Excludes unpaid original charges, other permit records, revisions and added inspection fees.

Codes and administrative updates

Use Florida technical codes with City development requirements. DSD publishes July 1, 2026 HB803 processing changes; confirm applicability rather than treating the update as a blanket exemption.

Submission checklist

Prepare owner, property and full-scope details.
Update contractor registration in LauderBuild.
Provide required exterior-work survey and site plan.
Coordinate Broward and City review requirements.

Homeowner rules

Confirm owner-builder documentation and the City’s applicable exemption form before filing. Required trade applications and qualified work remain scope-specific.

Inspections and closeout

Use City inspection services and arrange access/readiness. The FAQ says power generally is not released until all required inspections and fees are satisfied. Confirm final and occupancy conditions for the specific permit.
