Permit fees and worked estimates

The consolidated City page marks the new-dwelling rates updated February 13, 2026; other items have their own dates.

New 2,000-sq-ft under-roof dwelling: review 2,000 × $0.10 = $200; permit 2,000 × $0.40 = $800; these two components total $1,000 and include two drive approaches. Excludes impact, utility, fire, separately permitted scopes and special services. Building-linked MEP validation adds $0; standalone work is assessed separately. No additional surcharge is inferred; confirm the invoice.

Submission checklist

Identify the property and full scope.
Use residential or commercial forms and required plans.
Separate building-linked trade validation from standalone work.
Prepare required service calculations and supporting compliance records.

Homeowner and contractor rules

Use the owner/applicant route and documentation required by Inspections. Ownership does not replace credentials for regulated trade work; confirm any homeowner trade exception with the City before doing the work.

Codes and amendments

Use Irving’s Codes and Ordinances resources to identify adopted rules and local amendments. The residential page separately links proposed 2024-code ordinances, which should not be treated as proof of an adopted effective date.

Inspections and closeout

Request online inspections by 6 a.m. on the requested business day; later requests are scheduled no earlier than the next business day. Complete required building/trade finals and establish whether the intended use requires an occupancy approval.
