Property zoning and required Planning approval.
Complete building and discipline plans and supporting documents.
Contractor information or owner documentation; agency authorization if applicable.
Accessibility, Fire, public-works and environmental-health items relevant to the scope.

Homeowner and codes

Owners acting as contractors are responsible for scheduling construction inspections. Check applicable Oakland and California requirements and actual exemptions. Planning approval does not authorize building work.

Inspections and closeout

Do not cover work before passing inspection. City guidance calls for an inspection at least every six months to maintain activity and requests at least two business days ahead for a specific date. Complete revisions, corrections and applicable occupancy approvals.
