Permit fees and worked estimates

The actual City Express page supplies a multiplier and an illustrative base. The check date does not certify that illustrative base as the current tariff.

Conditional City example: if the applicable plan-review fee is $1,137, then $1,137 × 1.5 = $1,705.50 for Residential Express. Checked October 12, 2026; the $1,137 base is not independently verified as current. Excludes issuance, trade, Planning, Fire and other project charges. Obtain the actual assessed base.

Submission checklist

Check property restrictions and obtain applicable historic clearance.
Use addition/remodel or accessory-building instructions and electronic file standards.
Confirm size, structural and easement eligibility.
Provide address and scope when booking; upload files the same day.

Homeowner and codes

Confirm owner-builder eligibility and hired-trade credentials. An accessory structure needs a permit when larger than 120 square feet or when it contains electricity or plumbing. Express accessory projects must satisfy the narrower service criteria and prescriptive framing requirements.

Inspections and closeout

Complete the project’s required building and trade inspections and final approvals. Keep approved plans and any Planning clearances with the permit record; an Express meeting does not replace field inspection.
