Codes and amendments

Use Georgia-adopted technical codes with applicable state amendments and Savannah land-use/flood requirements. Confirm the edition for the application rather than equating fee-schedule year with code year.

Submission checklist

Use the Complete Application Checklist.
Provide drawings and outside approvals.
Verify Georgia contractor scope or homeowner eligibility.
Track reviews and supply missing items before issuance.

Homeowner rules

The residential guide requires the homeowner to live in the residence, not self-perform for rental property, have no permit at another address within two years, accept responsibility and use licensed contractors for work not self-performed. Confirm all listed conditions with the City.

Inspections and closeout

Use the City inspection instructions and supply the permit number/job address. Coordinate required stages and all final approvals before occupancy.
